A Heros Journey

In the movie star wars return of the jedi both luke and anakin (vader) had a heros journey In the movie they have a race aginst time to destroy a shild around the new death star. They have to destroy the generator on the moon that it is orbiting and when they succsed and befor it gets destroyed luke and vader have a fight and luke trys to perswade him to come back to the dark side. and vader trys to perswade luke to come to the dark side.

For luke's journey it was a quest to find his father and bring him back to the good side and resiting the temtation to go to the dark side. Over all he resists the dark side and stays on the good but almost loses his life to the emperor but all his perswasion saves his life his father (vader) throws the emperor of the edge and they get out of the death star befor it explodes and luke spend the last few seconds with his father befor he dies.

For vader's journey it was fighting the dark side for his life but he gave in when he was a young man. In this movie his journey was to try to get his sun luke to join the dark side or kill him. After luke tryed to kill him vader got his and cut off and gave in. so the emperor went to kill luke and luke was saying please give in to the good i know it is there. so finally after luke was about to die vader picks up the emperor sacraficeing his life by takeing the attack from lick to him self. He finally throws the emperor over the edge and is near his death. He spends his last few minutes as good with luke.

Community Service

Community Service
In my senior year I have had to complete 20 hours of community service to graduate. Throughout the year I have done about five different jobs for people. My first experience was for at the happy valley elementary school. I had to help set up for the harvest festival. We set up game booths and tables to put food and games on. For the rest of the day I got to run one of the game stations. It was . I had to go around and put different shapes under little circle mats that where in a circle kind of a circle close enough. So that when the music stops and they stop on a mat they can pick it up to see if they won anything. Mostly they won candy and for the rare ones they got a king size candy bar. After doing that for about six hours it was time to clean up. So we helped take the tables in side and take down all the declarations and put them in the storage.
The next one I did was short but fun I got to go around and sell Rafael tickets or 50/50 tickets for sober grad for 2 hours at a varsity football game. I walked around the football field about 50 times and every time I decided to the other team’s side it was vary awkward because they were losing so I decided to stay away from that side. What I did is took a deck of cards and gave the people who bought one half the card and after they all sold I had the football announcers and they picked a card and announced it.
In my opinion my most boring time was ringing bells for the Salvation Army. I stood in front of KB toys witch is now closed. I did this a couple days before Christmas and sang Christmas songs for anyone who would be brave enough to listen. That day I raised about 150$ and almost froze to death.
My fourth experience was a 8th grade dinner dance for the happy valley school and I had to set up lots of tables and move lots of hay bails to outline the room we set up a stage for a band to come play and put wall paper all around the room we set the tables and put table cloths on every table I spent about 2 hours in a small room making it completely dark in there for pictures. At about 8 we got pizza for coming to help. I left about 9 and went home.
My last and final experience was a sober grad car wash I had to go to a corner and wave a sign to let them know where it was after about an hour another school came by and started a car wash right across the street. After another hour I went up and got pizza and helped wash and dry cars for the rest of the day. We did this for about 4 hours and made over 600 dollars for sober grad

Pakistan’s Islamic Schools Fill Void, but Fuel Militancy

This article talks about how people in packastan are only 20% literate and that 80% are illiterate. They are trying to build more schools in packastan but the people their wont allow anyone to continue on with school parents have stoped thier kids with scolor ships but make them turn it dwon and go get a job. Every girl in packenstan except the higher class and parents who send them out of the county for an educattion.

I think that this dose affect not olny them but it affects everyone that is helping them learn people have lost thier life trying to teach them be geting burned alive and thats was for trying to help then read and wright. it would also help us alot becuase we wouldent be sepending 690 million dollars to thier county to help them learn that is just geting burned down.

So in the long run i think that if we send money or people we need to send troops to protect it other wise we shouldent send it becuase it will just get burned down.

Family's fight aginst pic's

In this artical it talks about a 18 year old girl that lost her life in a car accident and the family is getting herased by pictures from every direction. She crashes a 911 prosche at 100 miles and hour into a cement toll both. People around the area keep sending the family pictures of their near decapitated daughter and the family is liveing in fear of seeing these pictures.

I think they should win the legal battle but they never will becuse of the free speach. I mean you cant get every one that knows what happened to shut up about it or stop posting picture's If this was one of my family member and every one heraserd me i think i would take it really hard at first and then relize that people in the world can be complete jerks and i would learn to ignore them.

I think that they should filter the inter net for people who chose to have it filterd becuase not every one in the world will want that so every who does should get a filter box or something. People who chose to look at this arnt nesasarly bad people just corious and when to see what happens.

Earth Day

This artical talks about earth day and how we only celabatrait it once a year and that people dont even relize we have earth day. I think we should keep earth day and just show people that it exsists so that more can come and help the ones that already do.

I think the wrighter is correct becuase if people are staring to relize that we do not need earth day to keep the earth green people are starting to just take care of the earth. So when earth day comes around no one relizes it is earth day and if they do that dont change the way they do anything becuase they already help

My family hardly dose any thing we do not recycal i try to use less water and electrcity. we do recycle one thin witch is cans from soda but we dont get that much but at least its something.

Things not to learn in school

In school you learn many things but there are a few you need to not learn. Like you only need to get 70% my freshman year i learnd this becuase my parents wanted me to at least to get a C and not worse so i learn all i have to do is get 70% or better and im good. After that year i saw that what i learnd was bad so i tried to turn that around and it took me a few years to get where i wanted to be it was a big mistake to learn that 70% is ok because in real life you wont servive.

The second thing i learnd that i shouldnt have was you only need to know what's on the test. Teachers have told me all through out my high school test that you only need to know a certian part of the test. THis has been true but in real life it wont be test i have to take wont be just on one thing it will be on every thing and about anything on it.

Stop Me if You’ve Heard This One

This artical talks about a story in the 1920's and how the great depresion affected every one. Also it talks about how our hard times are here and what we can try to do or get from the past to help us in the present. People are freking out and dont know what to do. What they need to do is talk to the paresnt who have lived in the times of the great depression and figure out what they did to servive.

People now are loseing thier jobs homes and all in all just down sizeing this is a good thing to do when you dont have enough money to really pay for every thing you need. People are cuting back on necencials TV phones and Internet to save money. People are also cuting back on expensive food going out to eat or useing alot of water or lots of lights.

My family has lost our house and have moved around lots of times but we have cut back on food water we have no TV but we have internet and phones becuse thats something we need. We have downsized from 5 arcers down to not even half of and acer so we have cut back on many thing to help us in this economic time. We also have gotten a room mate to pay for half the rent and utilitys to help us pay and survie in this hard economic time.

Piracy law cuts internet traffic

This artical is about a law that allows companies to go after people who can take or share folders and steal movies befor they are realeased and music befor its released. They just look at the computer that downloaded it and look at there ip adress and bam you know where they are but people are starting to figure out how to block there ip adress so it is unregistered.

If the united states takes on this law i think it may slow internet use by alot until people figure out how to block there ip adress and make it private once again but if they dont if will stop alot of people that can figure it out becuse frineds share cd music files movies and they all use lime-wire. I think people wont be able to stop from trying to share files and they will find ways around the law to be able to share them becuase lime-wire is part of a tenagers life.

Intellectual property is legal property right over a song movies bussiness ect to try to protect their producy.. This is important becuase when people buy thier product and they put it on lime-wire or a file shareing website that person loses intellectual property becuase they are buying it and then giveing it away for free after they make sure they have the product.

Michael Vick

Every one in the world dose something wrong sometimes they do it with out even knowing it. This can range from murder to dog fighting to even lying but with in the new age people are more forgiveing in the new centery. In the 1900 people got killed for murder and now they just stay in jail till they die of nateral cause. People are still mad at michael but they are starting to forgive him.

Michael Vick has done a wrong thing dog fighting is a bad thing to do not only do you put animals in danger you put your self in danger. Your have the risk of geting rabies or other desies the dogs may carry and that he has gotten his punishment for his crime. Also killing animals for just the fun of watching and for money.

Personally i think that people should forgive him for his crime every one dose a few stupid thing in their life. As long as they can live with the new image that they put on them selfs. He should take a theropy but i dont think he is a psychopathic person. THe PETA should let it go because he got his punishment of 2 years in jail. If he dose any thing else to an animal he should go to prison for 10+ years.

The major thing that this will do if he gets back on a football team is eithier be oo hes just the loser that did dog fights that cant paly any more or someone who is still a good player and will evently have the whole dog insident behind him. but kids may look that he is still a bad person for a very long time.

One team in the NFL will take Michael vick back becuase he could be a good opertounity for a good quarterback but it may be bad depending if his two years in prison was a waste or if he still lifted waits. The NFL dosent have to judge him to fully redeem him but some of us will never go to forgive him for what he did.

Immigants and Assimilating

In this artical it talks about Illlegal and legal immigrants and how they are being treated as they come to the united states. The immigrants bearly speak any english if any. They take separate field trips and they organize separate clubs. The students are geting help by the teachers and are starting to learn english but then when it comes to the standerdized state testing they fail. Some teachers want to know who is illegal but they cant find out because of the no child left behind act so they help any one who is willing to learn.

In our country people dont take likely to immagrants they are very harsh to them. There are ways to help the immagrants one thing is that they need to not come in this country illegaly but sometimes they have to to be able to live. I think that if they are 13 and under then can go to school and learn as a kid but any older i think they should go to school and if they are haveing problems they should go to a special school that we should build to help them learn every thing they need to know. We also need to liten up on foriegn students because they are scard and out of place. We should treat them kindly.

In our school i think we would do a very good job at helping a student becuase all of the tearchers are willing to come earliy and stay a little late to help a studnet if they need help. This only works if the student is willing to learn and come in earliy or stay late. Another option is to have a class just for them with people that are bi lingual to be able to talk they native language and english to help them learn it.

Some people in tthe United States are to up tight about immigrants because they think they are terrorist or a threat but in reality they are just as humman as us. people just need to execpt the fact that they are going to come to united states as legal residence and they cant do anything about it fine they can go live out in the middle of no where to get away but i think that it is good to have forigin students come to the US

Some states push back against stem cell research

This artical how the goverment is funding Stem cell reasearch and is about Abortion and stem cell reasearch. Some people think abortion and embryonic stem cell reasearch is an assault on life in its earliest form Because Fertilized embryos are destroyed when stem cells are extracted for reasearch.

I think states sould be funded in stem cell reserach because when they figuer out how to clone people they will be able to save peoples lifes with the clone. I do oppose on killing the clone for any major organs that would kill the clone. When a clone is born or made it sould have the same rights as a humman dose so they cant be kill so some rich guy can live to be a million years old.

I think they dont have the right to oppose the federal goverment becuse it could start a major mayham with in the U.S. I think the federal goverment should be able to see that this will help us in the long run for skin deseses and any other ones that may occur that we will be able to cure with out killing the clone.

1600 jobs cut from newspaper

The newspaper company is in big trouble they have decided to lay off workers to stay aflot in this economic situation They are going to lay off 1600 by doing this it will save the company 110 million dollars over the next year. They are also decideing to lower wages of many employees some are up to 15%

I think this will hurt the news paper because they are loseing alot of workes that probley help support the newspaper but it might help them becuse of the money they are saveing. also this company will have to work more hours to get the same amount of work done.

I get my news from the TV on any of the news channels and becuase it is easier for me to see in the moringings and nights when im home because all i do is watch the TV.
I wont miss them becuse i never read the news paper because i can either watch the news on the TV or listen to it in the car or on a radeo when i am doing other stuff i need to get done

Segways are a machine for those too lazy to walk. Looking like a cross between a wheelchair and a lawnmower, the Segway is extolled as an ingenious invention. Obesity is a major problem for rich countries. People are eating too much of the wrong food. This processed food is a major technological achievement. It's cheap, tasty, unhealthy and fattening. Cloning: Is something thats been happening for a long while siecneists trying to go that one step farther to get to clon hummans and be able to make a exact replica of one self to take there organs to use for them selves if they are to get sick or ill But i think they should make clons just for the fact that they should live insted of being a organ downer. Living will/do not resuscitate: I think that people that are hooked up to a machine should have thier familly decide weather or not they should stay alive. What compermises were made?

Yestuday febuary 19th the goverment passed the 41 billion dollor buget gap. This caused big dilimas before they decided to pass the bill. They hade to face the fact the parents will receive fewer tax benefits, and state university students will pay 9 percent more in tuition. Which could cause many students to not go or drop out becuase its to expesive to go. say if they are paying 10,000 dollors a year they would now pay 900 more each year to go thats a big difference when u have to pay for it your self.

Schools are going to be hit hard yet agian teachers will have to be cut and and bugets will be cut. They will have to cram more students in one room so they can lessen the classes Arnold is trying his hardest to dig us out of this finaclial crisis and has been there for us in the 2003 crisis so i think he can but it will hurt many people in the prossece so this whole bill is on big compermise because they are compermiseing people to dig the state out of debt.

Selling organs for profit?

Arounf the world people are selling organs illigaly trying to make a profit off it. Do sugens know they are puting illigal organs in or are they just going with it to make money because the operation goes for 150,000 dollars each. People are giveing up hearts livers eyes etc. and these people are usally relitives or just common strangers.

People who sell the orgians are just thier to get money and nothing else. They dont care who they get it from. This is a bad thing becuase the people who do buy dont know if it is healthy or not. they may say it is but you cannot just them.

I think it is a bad idea and that who ever gets a transplant has to get the organ removed by the same doctor or have some way to prove that its from someone who is willing to give there life for that person. The people who got the organs usally got the organs from poor countries like asia and north america places.

Favorite movie of 2008

Iron man was my favorite movie of 2008. I like iron man because of the way they used tecnology to create a suit that hade imanginable power and was able to fly shoot missles and more. I think they put the movie to gether really well exept for one thing which was how the story line went on. I thought it was to predictable and the next seen was to easy to figure out, Other than that is was a great movie. I thought the actor that palyed Iron man was a good actor for that movie. My faviorite part of the movie is the part at the beginging when they make the prototype of the suit with just bare nissentioals and makes rocket boots out fo missels that he was souposed to didesemble. I also liked the part where he trys new stuff like pushing the suit to its limits by flying hi up into the atmosepher and then when it fails he finds a way to solve his problem.

Obama Speech

Barack obama was sworn in yesturday and gave a 20 minuite speech on how he will help us the people of the united states fix our problems that have been left behind. In his speech he said "this is a new era of respnsobility" Witch means it is his time to go and try to fix every thing that is going wrong from the national level down to the personal level.

First of with nationally barack obama is planning on bring our troops home from Iraq.He is also planing to help the people there. To help them learn how to start to defending them sleves insted of sending thousnds of troops to do it for them. Hopefuly buy bringing the troops home this will help the economy buy not haveing a war fund. Barack obama also wants to try to fix the problem our country because it is going in with the finatial crisis.

In the local part he wishes to help all states with grants for finatial aids for students that cant afford college and not them them slip away. The grants that are being given away are starting to lesson and dissaper so barack is going to try every he can do to try and make the economy stable again. He also dosnt want any one state to go dawn and start draging the rest with them.

Finally for the personal level is the job unenployment level Witch is droping lower and lower but if the grants help get fixed so more people can go to college more people can get higher level degrees witch will help lower unemployment because now there a lot of people takeing the low level jobs and not going to college so it sorts the hi level jobs and stops teens from geting jobs to help pay for college so in the end its a big cain of unemployment that needs to be fixed.

school capable of imparting life lessons

Thsi artical is about Douglas Soccio and how he apreciates all the people that work on school grounds and may not get the apreaciation they deserve.

In many ways people on the school grounds have hard jobs that no ones apreciates them for like the janitors. They have to go around and fix all the problems that may occur on school grounds. They pick up trash wash tables clean bathrooms that kids may destroy and just because this happens they dont quit because they love what they do and there happy. I think they deserve alot more appresation then they get.

This is the same with all other people that work on school grounds they have a job they may be tought but they love what they do. We have the cooks in the cafateria the teachers bus drives ect. they all work really hard and dont get alot of apreation when they work but they still love to do it.

In school you have the impuless to go out and do what you want insted of being stuck at home doing home work or a big project but kids need to learn that education needs to come befor fun if they just sit down and do there work and get it done they can go out the next day or when they are free of homework or project but if you wait till the last miniute they get done sloppy and done wrong. In freshman year i always put friends befor work and always had to rush. That put me in a huge hole that i could not get out of and for hanging with my friends for a day i get punished with bad grades parents yelling at me ect. So in the long run just get your work done.

Another good example that i have improved on is comeing to school in my first 2 years of high school i always went places with my parents and missed alot of school all the time but in the past 2 years of high school i have hardly missed any school. I noticed that missing school was way to much work to catch back up and i aslways just wanted to go cuz i got to miss it but now i see that it is very import to be here as much as u can to learn as much as you can in the days you have.

Hamlet

Hamlet was a crazy cofused person set on geting revenge on his uncle Because the gost said the he killed hit father. He trys on killing his unlce but in a tragic fail he ends up killing polonius. He is in love with ophelia and wont admit it. Hamlet is a victium of cercumstance because he has done nothing wrong but accidently kill polonius. Hamlet dosnt do much in the book he trys taking revenge on his uncle but other than that he his pretty lazy. Hamlet dose not want to take the thrown for lust of power he just dose not want his uncle takeing it from him after he finds out what he did to his father. No hamlet is not a person of exceptinal insight and intellegence. Yes hamlet is in the grip of insanity he is compley insane about killing his unlce and takeing his revenge.
